Amen

This is an interesting question as it poses to us additional questions; What is this mountain and what does to go up it mean?

  • You have heard of Abiding in love…

  • Vision of the spirit of fear being sent out to His remnant people: Isaiah 11:1-5

    • Fear of man, fear of the unsaved and fear of the reverence of God for the remnant

  • The Bible says that we are a light bearer and torch to the nations, we are a city on a hill and our light must not be hidden(Matthew 5:14)

  • We are to become new creatures and pursue a higher calling than ourselves, we must actively engage in climbing the mountain of Holiness, righteousness and perfection

  • The bible says as we conform to His image we are transformed, elevated to a higher state of being and move from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18)…dream

Now, let us imagine this mountain;

  • All of us are birthed into this world covered in sin at its base where the burdens are easy and when journeying in that place, we exert very little strength and tasks require no sacrifice of ourselves, we are babes to the world

  • Once we begin to see the mountain in all its glory arrayed in beautiful magnificence it beckons us to ask the question, is there more to this life?

  • We then seek and find that truth () and we hear His voice() calling us from an unmistakable brilliance of glimmering light at the top of that very mountain…

  • We run headlong toward the mountain unaware of the treacherous journey, hurdles and opposition we will face (this is of little consequence compared to the reward that is at the top)

Now this mountain, as you may have guessed, is the journey that every cross carrying Christian must make. The Bible says that the path to reach heaven is narrow but wide is the path that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14)

It is time to understand and live in the fear!  Are you living in the fear of the Lord, there is a good fear and a negative fear,

  • We must walk the line of hearing from the Lord in all things…and ensure we don’t slip or allow the enemy to bring about a sudden fall from His grace

  • What you fear is your God, if you fear nothing then you are full of pride and arrogance

Fear is only as powerful as you allow it to be and it goes in parallel with wisdom and understanding…

  • When we are born we are afraid of loud noises and little else, because it takes understanding of a thing to fear it (if you show a baby a beautiful colored animal they may run over to grab it to play with it without knowing that it is poisonous and may kill them in one bite, or they may touch a hot stove because the glowing ring looks cool)

  • Wisdom always operates with fear, gifts are magnified in the fear of the Lord

  • Work should be about being the light no asking for another place to blend into the light that already exist—burning flame an all-consuming fire!

  • Submit to one another in the fear of the Lord… Ephesians 5:21

    • Denominations not submitting to one another out of pride and selfish conceit

  • Dress for the occasion, reverence for His presence

  • Matthew 8 fear of your circumstances rather then abiding in the reverence of He who has control of the environment

  • Abraham, Noah, Job and Enoch walked in the fear of God

  • Daniel in the lion’s den

  • Fiery furnace

  • Shaking the snake off

  • Two men praying

  • Obedience is better than sacrifice, Jesus

  • Deny thyself take up the cross and follow me, a lot of people are allowing themselves to carry their cross and not God

  • Psalm 112

  • Fear of the Lord is akin to wonder (or awe). With the gift of fear of the Lord, one is made aware of the glory and majesty of God. ... He describes the gift as a "filial fear," like a child's fear of offending his father, rather than a "servile fear," that is, a fear of punishment.

When you reach the top He will say “

  • “This is my splendid creation in whom I did trust would see the path which leads back to me and look! they prevailed and have triumphed through my blood and have returned to their first love because they are indeed my good and faithful servant! Now come and take part with me the kingdom of eternal joy and gladness!”
